Spotlight On... Michael Bradley
Today i want to talk about one of my favorite American players, Michael Bradley. Yes, that Bradley, the son of the US national team coach Bob Bradley. Nepotism? I think not, this kid can play, i really enjoy watching him and i hope more people watch him and give him a chance, he is good he is the future of the US men NT. He deserves a spot on the national and a move to a bigger club.
I would love to see him in a Blackburn, Aston Villa, Ateltico Madrid, Werder Bremen, somewhere were he can play and where they will nurture his talent.
Watch him, he is good.
Facts:
Age- 20
Club- SC Heerenveen
*He was tied with Miralem Sulejmani as the top goal scorer for Heerenveen in the 2007-2008 season.
*His father is Bob Bradley coach of the US men NT
*He has been capped for the US 18 times.

Spotlight on....
I decided that every Thursday i will do something called "Spotlight On..." and will focus on an American player, i will give my thoughts on them and give some facts.
I decided to do this because i support American football players especially those playing abroad, so this will focus mostly on American players playing outside the US, occasionally i will talk about MLS players.
I hope you guys enjoy this! Leave your thoughts.

Peter Crouch to Portsmouth?
A very reliable source from the UK has told me that Peter Crouch to Pompey is basically a done deal and that Liverpool are just waiting to announce it. Apparently the deal was somewhere around £8-14millon the details are not clear yet.
NOOOOOOOOOOO not Crouchy!
I think Crouch is a good player and given the chance he will score, I think Benitez didn't take advantage of Crouch's abilities and to be honest i'm pissed. As a Liverpool fan i don't want to see him go, I love Torres (for the record i was a Torres fan way back when he was with Atletico Madrid, so i didn't just jump on the Torres bandwagon!) but we rely too much on him, what happens is Torres gets injured? We send in Voronin?
This is a good move for Crouch because he will be a regular and hey he will actually play!!! But as a Liverpool fan i am sad to hear that he might leave. And what am I going to do with my HE'S BIG, HE'S RED, HIS FEET STICK OUT THE BED shirt?!
If this turns out to be true which i really hope its not i think its a HUGE mistake and frankly this adds to my frustration with everything that is going on with Liverpool, but more on the Liverpool drama later.
Lets hope this is not true, but i have it from a good source.
I think is bad for Liverpool, good for Crouch and Portsmouth.
What do you all think bad for Liverpool? Good for Crouch? Good for Portsmouth?

Scolari new Chelsea manager
World Cup winning manager Luiz Felipe Scolari has signed on to be the new Chelsea gaffer. He has reportedly signed a three-year or four-year contract worth around £5 -£6.5million a year and has reportedly been given £100million to spend, he will start July 1.
I think Scolari is a quality manager, how can you say something bad about a World Cup wining manager? I think he has the attitude to handle the egos at Chelsea and the brutal English press, but Scolari has not managed at club level for 7 years and we all know that managing a club is not the same as managing a national team, he has also never managed a club in Europe. A European club is not the same as club in South America the amount of money available in Europe is no way near the amount of money that is available in South America and the quality of the players available is not the same. Can Big Phil handle a big European club? I'm not sure yet.
A lot is riding on Scolari's success or lack of success as a European manager. Scolari is the first South American manager to have the opportunity to manage a major British/European team and a lot of South American managers are hoping that with his appointment he will open ways for them.
Here is the Chelsea announcement:
Chelsea TV and www.chelseafc.com can exclusively reveal the following statement:
Chelsea Football Club is delighted to confirm that Luiz Felipe Scolari will be the club's new manager from July 1, 2008.
Felipe has great qualities. He is one of the world's top coaches with a record of success at country and club level, he gets the best out of a talented squad of players and his ambitions and expectations match ours. He was the outstanding choice.
Out of respect for his current role as Head Coach of the Portuguese national team, and to ensure minimum disruption to this work, there will be no further comment from Chelsea FC nor from Felipe about his new role until his employment with us commences.
Personally i think Chelsea and Scolari should have waited until the end of the Euros before announcing his appointment.
Now I'm wondering will Carvahlo go to Inter Milan with Jose? or now that Big Phil is at Chelsea will he stay? I am 100 percent sure that Drogba is gone no matter what, will Crespo come back? will Essien go? what about Lampard? I can't wait to see what happens with this Chelsea soap opera.
So what do you guys think, is Scolari a good choice for Chelsea?
Welcome!!
Welcome to the Beautiful Game blog! What is this blog about? The Beautiful game of FOOTBALL (Soccer)!
In this blog i will talk about everything regarding football. I will focus more on the Premier League, Europe and South America. This is not a professional blog, its a blog from a fan's point of view, so if you agree with me tell me! if you disagree with me tell me!
About me... I consider myself more than the average football fan, I've been watching football all my life. I am a Liverpool fan (give me a chance!!)but this is NOT a blog about Liverpool. Since i watch so much football there are several teams that i "support" or that i am fond of but, i bleed Liverpool red and no matter who they play against i support Liverpool.
I hope you stick around and read the blog. I will try to update at least two times a day. PLEASE PLEASE leave comments!!
