What is up with Gareth Barry and David Bentley?

What is up with Gareth Barry? Is he going or staying? Depending on what you are reading he is staying, The Sun reported that Liverpool missed the deadline set by Aston Villa by 15 mins, The Times is also reporting that he will stay, The Daily mail is reporting that Barry has secured a deal, Villa will get £17.5million fee and Steve Finnan.
Aston Villa's official site released a statement saying that he will be staying, Martin O'neill told the site:
"Naturally we're all absolutely delighted that Gareth will be staying at Villa Park and relieved that there is resolution and closure to the transfer saga.

"At a very positive meeting on Monday it was agreed between Gareth, his agent, Mr Lerner and myself that a deadline should be communicated to Liverpool to finally resolve the situation.

"Liverpool were informed and that deadline came and passed. Now we can all look forward to the season ahead with relief, anticipation and ambition."

So is he staying at Villa? or has he moved to Liverpool and will be announced Thursday?
Now as a Liverpool fan i would love to see Barry at Liverpool, i think he is a good midfielder and works well with Gerrard.
But I completely understand Villa fans, it hurts to know that your best player wants to leave, and you feel betrayed, this is a guy who has been at the club for years and is the heart and soul of the team it hurts to know he wants to leave. I feel you Villa fans.

Tomorrow we will see what really happened.

So it seems David Bentley is moving to Tottenham (ESPN Soccernet is reporting that he has signed), but of course we have to remember that Mr. Bentley is a formal Arsenal player. And it seems like Arsenal fans are furious that he is on his way to Spurs.

Now i love Arsenal fans, they are some of my favorite fans (more on that later) but i have to disagree. Its not like this is Thierry Henry or Fabregas moving to Tottenham! Yes Bentley was in the youth academy but if i recall correctly he has one start for Arsenal! (first team). And he was sold very cheap to Blackburn, so he was obviously not a very important player to the club.
So c'mon Gooners give this guy a break, he is a good player and left Arsenal because he was not playing, its not like he left Arsenal directly to Tottenham.

My favortie bad boy was released from prison and gets dumped by Nike

I can't believe that it took me so long to write about this! Everyone's favorite bad boy was released from prison this week!
Ok, ok, people calm down, i don't like Joey Barton, i agree with all of you he is a disgrace to football and should not be allowed to play football, but come on they whole Barton saga has been entertaining and now I just find the whole thing funny.

Nike dropped him from a sponsorship deal that was worth £40,000 a year for four years.
Barton has not been dropped by Newcastle and has been told he still has his place on the squad.

Oh Joey! i have missed you! i look forward to seeing you moon more fans, almost kill players by tackling them and get tons of red cards!
It will be interesting to see if in fact Barton will have his place on the squad, and what will happen with his career.

Its official! Robbie Keane is a Liverpool player

Its official Robbie Keane is a Liverpool player. He was signed a 5-year for £20.3million. The striker has signed for the club that he has supported all his life, on the move he said:
“I do not think I let Spurs down. I had six fantastic seasons there and gave them everything. Since day one.I always give everything, and that will never change. The Spurs fans were always magnificent to me and I will always have a place in my heart for them. But this is a new chapter in my life and one that I am looking forward to. I had six great years at Spurs and thank them for that. There are players leaving Spurs, but there are also good players coming in. I can only focus on Robbie Keane and what is good for me.'

He might make his first appearance as a red tomorrow against Villarreal.
As a Liverpool fan i could not be more happy, i think he is a fantastic striker and i think he will work well with Torres.
But here is my question, what happens with the Berbatov move? I think Spurs have to let him go, he does not want to be there, but what good strikers will they have left? Darren Bent?... i think not. From what i'm hearing Spurs are willing to sell Berbatov, but they are willing to sell him to Manchester United for more than they are asking other clubs for. Is it fair? why should Manchester United pay more for?

Another thing i'm hearing is that Tottenham are hoping to replace Keane/Berbatov with Andrei Arshavin and are also looking to get David Bentley.
We will have to wait and see what Tottenham will do this transfer market, it will be interesting.

Lets talk about the latest transfers rumors...

After a very long hiatus the blog is back! And today i want to talk about the latest transfer rumors, even though i must say this transfer season has not been very entertaining

--Newcastle Goalkeeper Shay Given to Arsenal-I think that Almunia is a decent GK and maybe Arsenal should get a new younger GK just in case. I think this rumor is false. Since Lehmann left Almunia has taken the role of number 1 GK and i don't think Shay Given is going to leave Newcastle where he has a start every game to sit on the bench at Arsenal.

--Arsenal Defender Philippe Senderos to Newcastle for £4m, I've actually heard a lot about this and from what i'm hearing, Mr. Wenger does not want to sell Senderos, but the board does. Not a big loss for Arsenal and a good buy for Newcastle, i say Arsenal should sell him. We will see how this turns out.

--Real Madrid Forward Robinho to Chelsea, how many season have we been hearing this? the rumor is that Chelsea have offered around £31.5m, I can see this move happening, Chelsea need a striker, but i think this deal but up to whether Real Madrid sign either Ronaldo or Kaka, i don't think they would let him go if they don't have a back up plan.

--AC Milan Midfielder Kaka to Chelsea (move would not happen if Chelsea get Robinho) depending on what you have been reading he is off to Chelsea or Real Madrid, he is a quality player and any club would love to have him, but he does not seem interested in leaving Milan and Milan don't see interested in selling him, be we all know Mr. Abramovich can hand any team a blank check and get what he wants. I don't see him leaving Milan, and if he were to leave it would be to Real Madrid.

--Valencia Forward David Villa to Real Madrid or Tottenham since the Euros ended Villa has been linked with a move everywhere. He has come out and said that he does not want to leave Valencia, but he is 25, it might be time for a move. I think he could go to Real Madrid, if this were to happen I'm pretty sure they would sell Robinho. I think that most people would think he would not move to Tottenham, but i don't think this is such a crazy idea, true Tottenham or not in the top 4 and he would be giving up Champions league football, but its a new league, a Spanish manager and they are in a building stage, he could become a hero at Tottenham if he chose to go.

--Tottenham Forward Dimitar Berbatov to Manchester United Tottenham want £38m Man U want to pay £25m, i think no matter what Tottenham have to sell him, He does not want to be there and who wants a player that does not want to play for the club? In my opinion Spurs are being greed, to me his is not worth that much.

--Lyon Forward Karim Benzema to Manchester United, Lyons is probably the most annoying club to buy from they are greedy and change their prices all the time, Benzema has been linked with them for a while now, what i'm hearing is that its up to Man U signing Berbatov, whether or not this deal is made.

--Blackburn Rovers Forward Roque Santa Cruz to Manchester United, now that Mark Hughes is not at Blackburn i can really see him moving, but I'm also hearing that this transfer depends on the Berbatov/Man U move.

--Arsenal Midfielder Cesc Fabregas to Real Madrid, for a while there have been rumors of him leaving but he has come out and said he is not ready to leave Arsenal, but that in some future he would like to play for Real Madrid. So for now FALSE.

--Tottenham Forward Robbie Keane to Liverpool, there have been a lot of rumors that this is a done deal and that we are just waiting for the announcement and as a Liverpool fan i would love to have him, but if Tottenham sell Berbatov (which it seem like they will) how can they sell Robbie Keane? What strikers will they have left? I won't believe until is see it.

Now i know these are not all the transfer rumors but these are the ones that are going around today. I will be back tomorrow to talk about something else in the footballing world!

Tell me what YOU think about these rumors, which would you like to see be real?
