Gareth Barry Leaving?....

Well, well, well, it seems like Gareth Barry is on his way to Liverpool after all. It seems that Liverpool are waiting to sell Pennant, Veronin (i can't wait for these two to go) and Alonso (i'm not too happy about him leaving) so that they can have the money to buy Barry, The Sun and The Times Online are reporting.
I know this comes to a surprise to a lot of people. but not to me, i had written about it Wednesday, when Aston Villa posted on their website that Barry would be staying.

As a Liverpool fan i can't wait to see him play. I think he will be fantastic with Steven Gerard and i think if we do get him the squad will be very good.

But i feel you Villa fans, I know that if Gerard left i would devastated, having your captain leaving is very hard and i understand that, and to be honest i think this will affect Villa a lot. At the end of the season, i told my friends, "watch out for Villa they have a good squad and with a few summer buys they can be a strong challenger for fourth", but i don't think thats going to happen if Barry leaves, he is the heart and soul of that team and losing that is very hard, they will have to rebuild and that can take time. But i think Martin O'Neill is a good manager, so lets wait and see what tricks he pulls out his sleeve.

What is up with Gareth Barry and David Bentley?

What is up with Gareth Barry? Is he going or staying? Depending on what you are reading he is staying, The Sun reported that Liverpool missed the deadline set by Aston Villa by 15 mins, The Times is also reporting that he will stay, The Daily mail is reporting that Barry has secured a deal, Villa will get £17.5million fee and Steve Finnan.
Aston Villa's official site released a statement saying that he will be staying, Martin O'neill told the site:
"Naturally we're all absolutely delighted that Gareth will be staying at Villa Park and relieved that there is resolution and closure to the transfer saga.

"At a very positive meeting on Monday it was agreed between Gareth, his agent, Mr Lerner and myself that a deadline should be communicated to Liverpool to finally resolve the situation.

"Liverpool were informed and that deadline came and passed. Now we can all look forward to the season ahead with relief, anticipation and ambition."

So is he staying at Villa? or has he moved to Liverpool and will be announced Thursday?
Now as a Liverpool fan i would love to see Barry at Liverpool, i think he is a good midfielder and works well with Gerrard.
But I completely understand Villa fans, it hurts to know that your best player wants to leave, and you feel betrayed, this is a guy who has been at the club for years and is the heart and soul of the team it hurts to know he wants to leave. I feel you Villa fans.

Tomorrow we will see what really happened.

So it seems David Bentley is moving to Tottenham (ESPN Soccernet is reporting that he has signed), but of course we have to remember that Mr. Bentley is a formal Arsenal player. And it seems like Arsenal fans are furious that he is on his way to Spurs.

Now i love Arsenal fans, they are some of my favorite fans (more on that later) but i have to disagree. Its not like this is Thierry Henry or Fabregas moving to Tottenham! Yes Bentley was in the youth academy but if i recall correctly he has one start for Arsenal! (first team). And he was sold very cheap to Blackburn, so he was obviously not a very important player to the club.
So c'mon Gooners give this guy a break, he is a good player and left Arsenal because he was not playing, its not like he left Arsenal directly to Tottenham.

Its official! Robbie Keane is a Liverpool player

Its official Robbie Keane is a Liverpool player. He was signed a 5-year for £20.3million. The striker has signed for the club that he has supported all his life, on the move he said:
“I do not think I let Spurs down. I had six fantastic seasons there and gave them everything. Since day one.I always give everything, and that will never change. The Spurs fans were always magnificent to me and I will always have a place in my heart for them. But this is a new chapter in my life and one that I am looking forward to. I had six great years at Spurs and thank them for that. There are players leaving Spurs, but there are also good players coming in. I can only focus on Robbie Keane and what is good for me.'

He might make his first appearance as a red tomorrow against Villarreal.
As a Liverpool fan i could not be more happy, i think he is a fantastic striker and i think he will work well with Torres.
But here is my question, what happens with the Berbatov move? I think Spurs have to let him go, he does not want to be there, but what good strikers will they have left? Darren Bent?... i think not. From what i'm hearing Spurs are willing to sell Berbatov, but they are willing to sell him to Manchester United for more than they are asking other clubs for. Is it fair? why should Manchester United pay more for?

Another thing i'm hearing is that Tottenham are hoping to replace Keane/Berbatov with Andrei Arshavin and are also looking to get David Bentley.
We will have to wait and see what Tottenham will do this transfer market, it will be interesting.

Peter Crouch to Portsmouth?

A very reliable source from the UK has told me that Peter Crouch to Pompey is basically a done deal and that Liverpool are just waiting to announce it. Apparently the deal was somewhere around £8-14millon the details are not clear yet.

NOOOOOOOOOOO not Crouchy!
I think Crouch is a good player and given the chance he will score, I think Benitez didn't take advantage of Crouch's abilities and to be honest i'm pissed. As a Liverpool fan i don't want to see him go, I love Torres (for the record i was a Torres fan way back when he was with Atletico Madrid, so i didn't just jump on the Torres bandwagon!) but we rely too much on him, what happens is Torres gets injured? We send in Voronin?

This is a good move for Crouch because he will be a regular and hey he will actually play!!! But as a Liverpool fan i am sad to hear that he might leave. And what am I going to do with my HE'S BIG, HE'S RED, HIS FEET STICK OUT THE BED shirt?!

If this turns out to be true which i really hope its not i think its a HUGE mistake and frankly this adds to my frustration with everything that is going on with Liverpool, but more on the Liverpool drama later.

Lets hope this is not true, but i have it from a good source.
I think is bad for Liverpool, good for Crouch and Portsmouth.
What do you all think bad for Liverpool? Good for Crouch? Good for Portsmouth?
