What is up with Gareth Barry and David Bentley?

What is up with Gareth Barry? Is he going or staying? Depending on what you are reading he is staying, The Sun reported that Liverpool missed the deadline set by Aston Villa by 15 mins, The Times is also reporting that he will stay, The Daily mail is reporting that Barry has secured a deal, Villa will get £17.5million fee and Steve Finnan.
Aston Villa's official site released a statement saying that he will be staying, Martin O'neill told the site:
"Naturally we're all absolutely delighted that Gareth will be staying at Villa Park and relieved that there is resolution and closure to the transfer saga.

"At a very positive meeting on Monday it was agreed between Gareth, his agent, Mr Lerner and myself that a deadline should be communicated to Liverpool to finally resolve the situation.

"Liverpool were informed and that deadline came and passed. Now we can all look forward to the season ahead with relief, anticipation and ambition."

So is he staying at Villa? or has he moved to Liverpool and will be announced Thursday?
Now as a Liverpool fan i would love to see Barry at Liverpool, i think he is a good midfielder and works well with Gerrard.
But I completely understand Villa fans, it hurts to know that your best player wants to leave, and you feel betrayed, this is a guy who has been at the club for years and is the heart and soul of the team it hurts to know he wants to leave. I feel you Villa fans.

Tomorrow we will see what really happened.

So it seems David Bentley is moving to Tottenham (ESPN Soccernet is reporting that he has signed), but of course we have to remember that Mr. Bentley is a formal Arsenal player. And it seems like Arsenal fans are furious that he is on his way to Spurs.

Now i love Arsenal fans, they are some of my favorite fans (more on that later) but i have to disagree. Its not like this is Thierry Henry or Fabregas moving to Tottenham! Yes Bentley was in the youth academy but if i recall correctly he has one start for Arsenal! (first team). And he was sold very cheap to Blackburn, so he was obviously not a very important player to the club.
So c'mon Gooners give this guy a break, he is a good player and left Arsenal because he was not playing, its not like he left Arsenal directly to Tottenham.
